Hi all, im new to the forums as I just found there was a Quad riders association in Qld.
Although im new to the forums, im not to the sport, I have been racing quads since 1998 when my mate Alf and I pushed very hard to have our class introduced in the regional races. As far as I was aware we were the first in Qld. I've had a few years out of the sport dew to starting a family and am now looking to start again.
I live in Ayr , about 1 hour south of Townsville, and have raced from Cairns to the Gold Coast.
I ride a 1998 Yamaha Banshee (yes it still goes) and it has been to hell and back . It is pretty tricked engine wise but very stock cosmeticaly.
ATM im lookin for another yamaha quad 450/660/700 to do enduro/Mx so let me know if ya hear of a good deal 
Anyhow hope to catch up with some of you lads for a ride / beer.

have you got the bansh goin yet?
any luck findin a mx bike? i think you should do an alfie and import one from the states!
we'll have to get a crew together soon for a ride.

welcome to the forum man, if your looking to get into mx all of the 450's out at the moment are all similarly capable, mines for sale if your looking:

I was wondering where you have raced in cairns?
I am currently trying to persuade the cairns motorcycle club to let me race on their track!
by the way my friends got an 04 yfz450 that he has been racing, he is trying to sell at the moment. |

Hi q0d,
mate i know that they race FlatTrack / Speedway up in cairns a bit but i'm not to sure about MX. I myself have never raced up there but I will ask around for you.
If you manage to get onto the Cairns club and get some numbers together i am sure they will give you a go. Also if you need the numbers we have a group of MXers im the Burdekin starting to grow and i'm sure that we would be keen to come and try a MX track up that way.
Thanks for the info on your mates bike , but im fine thanks i found myself a yfz450. |

yh, ok that would be great if we got a whole group of people from around the cairns area starting to race, since quad mx in FNQ is really rare, and even more so with junior riders.
no probs tho with the 450
