 |
|
Gents,
I got a new chain and sprockets, removed the old chain and sprockets, remounted the sprockets.
I want to get the maximum use out of the new chain and adjustment settings, on the right side (near the disc brake) I can not seem to move it from the maxed out position.
I have undone the two bolts near the brake disc that hold the adjustment in place, I can not move the axle any more further to the minimum setting, am i missing something ?
I have undone the chain adjusters (the ones to ensure you have the same adjustment on both sides), am I meant to undo the swingarm to achieve this ? am I missing another bolt to undo ?
The axle will only move forward on the left side (near the rear sprocket), not the right side at all (near the disc brake), it stays in the maxed out position.
I have the service manual but does not say how to replace the chain it says how to adjust it.
Any help would be great... |

Sounds like you loosened the hub nuts (X2 near your brake rotor) & loosened the locknuts (X2 both sides) & adjusting bolts.
Sometimes you have to smack your diff (not too hard) with a rubber mallet to loosen it. _________________ Don't close your eyes during the crash, you'll miss the best part |

Thanks, I battled it out today, I found the adjustment bolts were bent therefore not letting me screw out without a lot of hassle, got it all done now. Thanks for your help.

Wow! Never heard of bent adjustment bolts.
Glad you got it worked out. _________________ Don't close your eyes during the crash, you'll miss the best part |
