Did you buy it this way or did you fit the pipe?
You should try a 165 main jet or better still get a complete jet kit with needle, main jets and pilot jet. You will get instructions as well. |

Did you install the 150 main? 150 is way to lean! Do greenhuman's advice and go a 165 or maybe even a 168. Give greenhuman a call and get a jet kit from him.
Mine's an '07 with a 168 main, 45 pilot with cam-mod, motoworks air filter and baffle out. This is slightly rich at the moment but that will be fixed with my new AC full system yet to be installed. _________________ Don't close your eyes during the crash, you'll miss the best part |

Go with greehuman. Go the kit and you cant go wrong. Better off starting from scratch when you have bought a problem off someone else. _________________ Yamaha Raptor 700CC

I agree, 150 is way lean.
The best jetting kit for FCR carbs is from JD Jetting, you can get them from www.mainjetmotorcycles.com here in OZ.
you should be looking at least at a 45 PJ and 165 to 168 MJ.
Get you self an externally adjustable fuel screw while your at it. make a big difference to be able to adjust it up to siut the condtions. _________________

If not, it may be a Dynojet jet, a 150 is the equivilant of a 165 Keihin jet. |
yeah good point adam. It may have been jetted already, it might pay to check with the guy you bought it off to see what got done?
also it would pay to check you exhaust gasket and also the join where the header meets the muffler to make sure there are no leaks back into the exhaust system. _________________

If you've got a second hand bike with various bits on it...
the best way to set your mixtures right is to get it on a dyno with someone experienced in that model quad.
That way 'you' (the new owner) will know it has at least been set up right after all the changes.
Knowing your starting point will really help you if it seams a bit off colour or something else goes wrong down the track.
I'd highly recommend QuadSquad.
It will probably come up as requiring a 165 main as most of the blokes have said on here...
but it would be nice to know, and not find out by melting something.
Because it does sound lean _________________ Can-Am X Team
