G'Day all,
We are two French planning to spend our honeymoon in Australia next year (around March/April).
We really like quad biking, and we think it would be interesting to do some in Australia. We would like to ride at least one whole day (last time we did that was in France, a whole day riding in forest and in the mud, it was awesome!!)
As we are not experimented quad riders, we would prefer to do a guided tour, with an experimented person who would show us some good spots (but not to hard), and be able to help us if we have difficulties.
Unfortunately, the only quad tours proposed by travel companies are only 2-3h (max) tours, and mostly for tourists (that means, we guess, slow speed and not funny spots to override). There is only one longer tour (1day / 1night) proposed by Outback Quad Adventure (http://www.outbackquadadventures.com.au/if_tours_ont.php), but we fear that it’s another “tourist” tour, riding 30km/h max, admiring the desert… did one of you already test this tour?
We’ve seen one this forum a quad park that seems to be interesting, the “frogmore4wheeladventurepark”, wher we can hire quad bikes for an entire day… But we have some questions regarding this park: is it big enough to spend a whole day in it? Does it provide some intermediate-level tracks?
Well, do you have some advice to provide us concerning our project?
P.P.S: I posted this topic in the “General Chit Chat” section, because we’re going to travel in SA, VIC, NWS and QLD (a loong honymoon ), and I think it’s better to do only one post rather than 4 posts (1 in each section)
P.P.S: Sorry for my bad English… I’m French! |

Hi. Welcome in advance to Australia.
Be certain to go to Stockton sand dunes at Port Stephens which is about 160km north of Sydney in NSW. There are guided tours which I have never done but, unless you can get somebody from this board to take you to the dunes, these tours are probably as good as it will get for you.
Stockton dunes are a great area and should not be missed if you come to Australia and you like quads (and even if you don't like quads IMHO) |

Hey Froggies, great honeymoon plan , If your travelling around "Outback" Qld , we have more than enough river/trail/track riding , with ample native flora & fauna to keep you busy for a day.
We have a couple of quads , you could borrow for the day just need to know what size your looking for .
If you are interested , along the way a bit of real bush tucker cooked by an original custodian, might be able to be arranged, for a special taste of Australia
[ the native frogs look delicious just quietly ] .
Only catch is we are 6 hours drive west of Brisbane , or 1 hour flight to Roma + 1 hour drive to Mitchell, where you will find plenty of modern accom , Caravan park or farmstays to select from .
