depend on who is porting it and what they are altering. A good clean up of the cylinders without modifing the port window size/shape with give an increase all over.

as bansheebuzz said, depends whos porting it and what they are doing.
you need to know where you want the power before you port and dont even try doing it yourself unless you know what you are doing and have all the right tools.
a dremel will not be enought, you need alot of different tools to get it right including right angle peices etc.
but if you are getting a profesional to do it they will probably have a selection of port jobs they can do for you changing where the power will be

its pritty hard to get power all round, if you've got sst's you got a top end pipe. where do you do most of your riding?
where and how you ride will give you an idea on what type of porting you want...

maybe more bolt on mods might be better before you look at porting?

theres no point in getting a low end port job then putting top end pipes on it...

fmf gnarlies or fatties or paul tuner mids are what you are looking for.\
i gather by lancalin you are talking about the dunes? most people running in the dunes go for more top end in the sand...

just added you on msn too

In my experience SST's are a more all round pipe and Fatty's are more top endy. I actually just tried it on saturday, ran my bike with fattys on it then switched to SSTs without changing anything else.

Before you port it, or buy different pipes, try this:

Shave the head 15-20 thou.
Advance the timing 4 degrees.
Fit thinner base gaskets, 12 thou.

My mate has a banshee with this setup, SST pipes, and it has excellent bottom/mid, way more than stock. he even has 32mm carbs on it too so you will have more bottom again with the stock carbs.

if its still not enough, then you can port it. i can recomend a few good guys to port the banshee engine, send me a pm if you want their details.
