Bought a K&N filter for the Grizzly (350), want i need to know is the old stock filter has a piece that goes into the intake hole where as the K&N doesn't (double checked part numbers on the K&N site to make sure)
it has like a lip that surrounds the hole in the air box(no piece that goes in) and squashes up to seal. Is that normal for these filters, the filter fits in the holder ok maybe a little tight but goes in. I can take some photos if it will explain it easier if i have confused anyone. Surprised

Cheers Whitey Smile

I think you have the wrong one chap... unless there's a sleeve that goes between the K&N and carbie, but i doubt it. Sad

Thanks Yogie, have triple checked part number on the K&N site against the bike and it still comes up the same. Have sent a email to K&N with the pictures asking if there is adaptor and if there is a filter that will fit the bike. No big loss the dealer said they would take it back if it didn't fit.

In regards to your factory filter, go down to Bunnings and buy some pool filter stockings, and give them a coating of filter oil, put two over it and when your doing a dusty ride, peel one off, leave it in the filter box and continue on, I did that with my kodiak, for years. Very Happy

Yogie me and my old mate (a fitter and turner) have come up with a adaptor plate that should do the job quite nicely should take him about 15 - 30 min to machine up and shouldn't have any trouble fitting it. When it is done will post pics.

Cheers Whitey.

Was telling the dealer about my drama with the filter, when i took it back for some warranty work (nothing major) he showed me how they are installed in the air box. Have fitted it up, was quite suprised with the difference in the grizz.
