horror stories regarding the 2008 gearbox 4stroker not all models

as i said i have not had one issue with my 2 and also noticed few others with 07 models havent had trouble

and if he is going to race it i think getting rid of the bone jarring out of date race designed banshee would be a smart move as i know i used to race a banshee and even rec riding i think the ltr in stock form out performs a stock banshee in ride plushness haha

06 only had issue of rear shock mount breaking which they recalled and fixed on them

07 no real known issues

08 3rd gear issue

09 still to see what if any probs

haitim01 dont let anyone scare ya at vic titles all the ltrs that were there all were going end of weekend i know of 2 yams that werent and a honda that wasnt and another yam had a clutch let go

few ltrs on podium too

yeah that or the sticker on the frame on left side has a manufacture date

and smitty had a production class ltr that was 06 but i beleive that one if you only just bought it from smitty as being a 2007 from his last year on suzuki

come to think of it, im pretty sure its only a 2006 cause i founf the original post where he was selling it a while back, and that was in 2006.

Another guy has had it in between but didnt ride it, it sat in his shed for 98% of the time he had it.

anyone know where i can get some new plastics from at a good price or new sticker kits?

Cheers

the 06's also had an issue with the shift mechanism, which could break out and let the gearbox select more than one gear (= kaboom). we never had one go but I know of quite a few that did.

the 07's issues (with the ones that have had them) are likley related to the case hardening process that Suzuki use not being reliable, as in that there are good ones and bad ones around.

haitim01, that is definatly one of the 06's as the 07's only just got sold in the last 2 months.

I mean that Smittys 07's only just got sold so the one you've got is definitely an 06.
