We took the new commander out for it's first spin today to an old gold processing plant near Marble Bar. The GLW and I took turns driving and had a ball. These things are certainly a whole different animal than the quads and will take some time to get used to. Here are a couple of pics. We didn't take many as we were too busy trying to hang on.

great shots bloke... yada yada, but let clear this up once and for all, these are driven, for eg a little old lady drives a car, and real man rides a quad...
So the power of these things, scary? hanging on for dear life? come on bloke we want to know. _________________ 2005 KFX700

My mum's a little old lady and she rides a KFX700
We are running it in so only had it to 80 today at 3/4 throttle. They are supposed to top out at around 110-120 ish I think. They seem to have plenty of poke but totally different power response than the rappy. Can't wait to open her up once she is run in to see what she can do. It was a very comfy ride, the seats are plush and the suspension soaked up everything we went through and over (sounding like a commercial now).
Couple of things we found that we will need to get used to:
1.Engine/CV/Drive noise is significantly louder than on the quads. We had to yell at each other to communicate. In helmet mikes are the go I think.
2.Can't see the front wheels and L/H drive makes it difficult to align yourself on the track. We found ourselves pruning all the trees on the right hand side of the track in both directions.
3.Engine response at low speed is a little jerky in both forward and reverse.
These are things that we will get used to the more we drive though and were not major issues for us. Overall we both agreed that the commander will suit us for rides up here for the remainder of our time and also as a work horse for the property in Vic when we eventually move back down.
...and now over to Huskygoat ....just kidding... _________________ I'm not suffering from insanity, I'm enjoying it!!! |

Congratualtions bud 800 or 1000?
The do look very good as a rec vehicle, everyones going to have a view and well some are worth more than others!
When you get down here you'll be able to do some Motorkhana's etc I hope all locally.
If not the Fossil Forrest resort will do just fine for cutting a few laps! _________________ www.asho.com.au for your shooting and outdoor needs
