I've come to a decsion that its time for a change so im going to be selling my 06 Predator 500. It has served me well but i've always wanted a Jap quad. Im was looking at the LTR450 but the issue of the gearbox always pops up whenever im reseraching. So im leaning towards the raptor 700 as i do ride mostly trails and i think would be best suited.......
What are your opinons on the LTR450 and raptor 700?????? |

All the raptors that I've seen on the trails, there's never been one break down, typical Yamaha reliabiity me thinks. But all the bad press about the suzzies and gearboxes, yeah stay well away me thinks. But I thought the predators were real good anyway.... _________________ 2005 KFX700

Iown two suzukis and neither has had any gearbox problems yet 07 mod but if your mostly trail riding you may find ground clearence a problem the
raptor would be more suited but for racing you would be better to go the suzuki, with the box i don't know if it is from changing gears without the clutch but if you get an 07 the metal was different as well for the gearing |

The TRX 700 is hondas first 700 independent. Ive always been told not to purchase the first model of anything. Not knocking the honda, i have a trx 90 for my son and its great. But the Yamaha would have to be the pick. Have three mates that ride them , and they are great. _________________ YFZ450

we own 2 ltr 450 both are 07 models and had no issues at all touch wood
the gearbox issue seems to be in the 2008 models and also when engines have been moded the ltr is wide for mx so if ya only trailing ya maybe better with yam to get through some tracks but if you look to race later on go the ltr ................ in production class nothing has come close to beating it as yet specialy not a green quad anyways Yogie hahaha _________________ black covered in 5.7 powered oversize quad

Mr Gaitar races a Honda TRX450ER at Motocross, just last weekend he had the chance to race the Honda 700XX in the Hyden 300 Ironman Enduro. He finished 4th overall- it was straight out the box(adding only nerfs/Killswitch)
He stated the Honda was really comfortable, with a comfortable seat, even riding 300km + 30km site lap. He thinks you should go for a ride on one and you will be pleasantly surprised. He rated the independent rear suspension as a bonus and power delivery and fuel injection very smooth. He didnt get tired riding it, thumb throttle is light. At only 46 inches wide and having the IRS rear suspension, it didnt feel like it needed to be widened.
Brilliant ground clearance.
If you want to PM him for more information, PM me. _________________ www.waquadmx.com |
