Is there anywhere that you can buy Slime or similar in bulk quantities, ie 20 litres.

Hi JB, have a look on ebay under 4wd accesories by the way the stuff only fixes very, very small holes that small the leak would take days to go down. If your using it with quads you are better of with a plug kit. I have used both and I find a plug kit is better and cheaper in the longrun.

yea go get a plug kit if its for a tubeless tyre (quad tyre)

they are wa better and its a garentied seal in the matter of seconds it takes to put it in

thats all i could find on the net, but $500 for 5 gallons is expensive (18litres)

I'd have to disagree , been using slime for 12 months and the only puncture I've had took 6/8 plugs to seal and then even with air still coming out i just drove off and the slime sealed it up . Have pulled out sticks and the hole just seals over . A few of the members in our hunting club use it . Cost me $30 per wheel . My plug kit is a very good one purchased from TJM and have been using plugs for years. Was looking for a cheaper buying price for us .

Our record is 16 plugs to fix a hole cant see slime doing that , also make sure you use the brown plugs they work much better than the black ones.

WOW ... 16 plugs!! That is some good going there ...

I dont think this sort of "stuff" (slime ... we call it "baboon snot") is more for the thorn size hole ... there are very little things that will fitt a 16 plug hole ... other than 16 plugs of cause ... Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Methinks you misunderstand what I'm saying . Slime is good for holes up to 6mm by the instructions but I've pulled out 10mm sticks and it has sealed over . One of our hunting club members used a "profanity removed" load of plugs once and then had to use his shoe laces to seal it enuf to get back to camp. We ride from daylight to dark for 7-12 days on these culls in some very hard country that doesn't have tracks and a vehicle can not access.
Anyway I'm offf early Friday for a week or so on another donkey & camel cull.

I understand you totally ... I think the stuff is fantastic ... for smaller holes. It is there to help, not replace plugs. One thing, while I remember (sorry if I am talking to the converted), if you add this sort of stuff to your tyres, you need to ride slowly for a bit. Just to apply the slime to then whole tyre. If it all sits in one place, you can unballance the wheel ... Wink

Good luck with the ride ... dont forget the pics please ... Smile

Thanks for the contact , will email him when I return next weekend. I'm not much of a camera person but a couple of the other blokes will no doubt take some pics. I spent 2 months in South Africa in 2002. Went over for the IPSC Pistol World Shoot . Did some hunting as well . Love the place.
