I just happen to find a site of the gold coast city council.it highlighted the fact that soon we will have no stanmoore park,no reedy creek track, no hatcher park etc etc....&&%&(*()^&#@# NOWHERE TO RIDE in other words!!WHAT DO WE HAVE TO DO,WHO DO WE HAVE TO TALK TO!!! I mean this from a recreational, trail riding, motocross etc point of veiw.We can pay our rec rego fees and we get an insurance component but this useless as we have nowhere to use it!This is an Australian wide issue. We vote these losers in to the guvment and we still get nothing.Residents complain about the tracks and the noise from them, but the tracks have been there 20 years or so.The councils or the idiots running them have allowed houses to be built too close!!So who do we approach and how?Is there a national body that approach the goverment toget some action?Look at Stockton dunes!! Anyone got any ideas? Do we bombard the media or?? a very p.... off gazman

Gazman, how ironic to find someone else going nuts about the same topic as me at the same time.

Read our thread in Vic forum In it for the long haul, we need somewhere to ride ! where we have been having a discussion for the past two months and what to do about it.

Given your mention of political standpoints and so on, I'd like to hear your feedback having read that about Vic.

geeman, thanks for the response.I started riding in Melb,xr 75,in 1974.We had plenty of room in the outer eastern suburbs.Soon there was a problem of houses popping up everywhere and sure enough we had a problem with"bloody trail bikes!!!Its now 2008 and we still have nowhere specific to ride, no rego that means anything ,we are not recognised as anything and seem to have no controlling body.Yes there are a few clubs and tracks around most cities but there cannot be enough facillities to handle or cope the amount of bikes and riders.I think there has been record numbers of sales of bikes in the last few years, both on road and off road but the pollies just look the other way!!I also think the uncontrolled import of dirt bikes with noisey mufflers has added to the problem.I have a Chinese import (some of them are pretty good) myself but i have fitted a much quieter muffler. If we are licenced and rego'd, can we ride in state forest? How about an area next to any airport? what noise??

At the moment it has become a hell of a political hot potato around the whole board with a lot of people talking a lot of negatives about other people who are trying to do something positive, possibly becuase they themselves have failed in the past? I dont know.

All I know is it not worth getting involved in and apparently thats what is preferred, that people just say nothing, leave the status quo of having no legal trail riding. Leading to people resorting to personal insults on some posts on Sunday nite.

I dont know if I can add any value to the matter because to add value it has to have support and at the moment as i said people prefer the status quo.

Just try and fit into whatever peolpe are doing and the water will be fine.
