It sounds like you have just cut the neg coil wire and run it through the kill switch. The neg coil wire should go to one side of the switch and the other goes to the frame, the way it works is that when the switch is pulled the spark goes to ground on the frame instead of to the plug. _________________ I am old and wise because i survived young and stupid |

| All done. Didn't end up doing it that way, mate. Just put 2 cables, one either side of the coil, with original cables. was actually really simple. thanks anyway for ur help! Paul. |

by placing one wire to the coil and one to the frame actually shorts out and loads up the coil and can cause failure to system ,, also by running it straight through as stated in the second method you can loose quaility of spark and may cause engine breakdown at high rpm
Mine has been wired using a relay so it activates the relay to throw the switch only when pulled _________________ 2012 Can am Outlander Xt 1000cc

Wish this was posted last week Bought a cheap generic lanyard kill switch with no instructions and ended up following directions off a post on another forum. Wired both cables into the coil which seemed to work initially, but now the coil is cactus and I am having to replace it. I have also picked up the pro armor kill switch which comes with complete instructions. _________________ I'm not suffering from insanity, I'm enjoying it!!! |

Most people will tell you to wire it like the shorting method unaware of the ramifacations.... i was lucky enough to have a electronics guru at my place when i needed to put mine on for the thumb pump. it is quite simple and the relay has a diode in it for protection against spikes _________________ 2012 Can am Outlander Xt 1000cc
