I have just fitted a new alloy skid plate to my 05 YFZ450. There is no plastic guard between the two. The chain actually hits the guard at times. This is the last thing from a full strip down rebuild. Have I missed something. It is a new chain also.

Should I cut a section of the front edge to give extra clearance?
Get some thick rubber and attach along the line of chain and sprocket?

Any advise please

One of these, mounted to the skid will do the job. Or you can use your standard one.

Cheers for that. I will try the bend and fit the old one and see how it goes.

Not sure on the bolt, it was one that came with it. Has only been on a little while. Hasn't taken long for it to develop surface rust.
