I thought I'd start a poll that we could just leave running to find the average two stroke fuel:oil ratio.
If all the 2'ees out there just entre their average ratio for most general riding / racing...
Let's see what we get.....

so far there are 4 people using 40:1... i have some questions!

1. what oil?
2. what type of riding? (eg tight and technical, or flat out dune riding)
3. how often are you rebuilding the top end?
4. how often are you rebuilding the bottom end?

I ran my banshee 32:1 with Castrol TT-S because it was cheap. Full noise most of the time and rode/raced it most weekends. First rebuild (top and bottom end) was at least 3 years from new and wasn't due to failure or really necessary, but was hotting it up and thought I'd go right through it. Never went through or fouled plugs, not too smokey, very reliable and went hard all day.

nothing too wild, port job with transfer ports linked, 30thou shaved off the head, 28mm Keihin Flat-Slide carbs, carbon tech reeds, FMF Fatty pipes not a lot else. Certainly wasn't the fastest banshee around but fairly quick off the mark.

Another 40:1 glutton here...

No Banshees though, just blasters, Eton 90's and 2 wheel MX bikes.

Using synthetic oil, have used Shell VSX2, Torco GP-7 and PJ1 Goldfire Pro.

40:1 motul 800/shell premium fuel
as those that know me are aware we have two banshees at the moment and one in the process of construction
one bone stock apart from DMC aliens, some reeds and 30mm D's
the other has had some minor internal improvements lol laughing laughing eek FMF fatty's and powercore silencers, 30mm D's , 66mm bore, wossner pistons, fandangled fancy reed thingys, yahda yahda yahda
have blown motors on the improved one too many times mainly due to poor air filter construction/maintenance and the fact it's been my method of experimentation with stuff.
the stocker has had motul at 40:1 since new (04) by the first owner and now by us. and still running strong. (now i've said that i'll probably destroy a crank or something this weekend lol)
we also run an eton 90 and soon will have a pro shark 90
have run the eton at 40:1 too using motul and will do so in the proshark when it's finished
plus a kazuma panda 90 2 stroke that my 17 yr old abused the living daylights out of for a few jumbo junior events, that bike died a horrible death when the rear shocker mount snapped and the exhaust which is bolted to the rh case cover tore the rh side of the engine off, still finished the next two laps of the race though and when we stripped it down the piston , bore etc was fine so 40:1 seems to work fine in our two strokes
