Is there anything that you are particularly chasing Norm?
I've been racing the Renegade and Outlander 800's since 2008.
G1 and G2 are quite different for set-up because the chassis is a full redesign. The plastics look the same but underneath is quite different.
Like all machines, there are a lot of little tips and tricks to consider if you are chasing that elusive 100% reliability.
I think I run at 99% _________________ Can-Am X Team

Hi,
I was just enquiring as I have just bought a 2009 Renagade with 60 hrs on it fitted with a few extras in vgc and I just wanted to know if they had any common issues or problems. I bought this from a friend of a friend and I know that he did not have any issues it was just that he did not get time to use it. Also spoke to the dealer who said that it had not had any repairs. I intend use it for a bit of fishing and shooting |

That's one mean "fishing" bike you have there.
If it has a 'sock' on the CVT intake, make sure you keep it clean. Especially if you ride through thistles and long grass. The fine stuff can collect on the filter and restrict airflow. This is probably the only way you will risk a belt failure.
I throw the Sock away and run without to ensure max air flow.
Other than that just don't stall up, smoke, or abuse the belt and you should be fine.
Chase the rear TTI arm pivot bearing slack occasionally. It needs a large special tool socket so get you dealer to check the bearing pre-load.
Run a 5 toe-out if it is twitchy or has too much body roll. Just don't run Toe-in. And run the suspension ride height lower rather than higher.
Take your time and be careful fitting the front plastic bonnet. If you bend the lugs up front the first time by forcing them the wrong way, it makes them harder to fit every time after that.
Make sure the throttle stop screw at the handle bar end is adjusted to under 99.9%
If they can push past 100% they risk jamming at full throttle, so make sure it bottoms out a tad early.
Enjoy your high speed fishing

Thanks for the info I appreciate it.
Has anyone made racks for the front of the renegade and were they successful?
Is there a site that you can go to to get diagrams.
Thanks |

A Renegade is pretty much an Outlander without racks... but the Outlander racks do not fit.
All the mounting points off the chassis are different.
A bunch of us have made various front towers for navigational gear for racing.
The front bonnet section is an easily removed service panel that is not such a scary piece of body work to go drilling holes in. That might be the best place to start.
There are also some spare holes in the wings that extend off the chassis for the top shock mounts. You could mount something through the guards to pick up at those strong points too. _________________ Can-Am X Team

Thanks for the reply, I'll have a shot and see how I go. I know it is an over kill for what I will be using it for but at the price I got it for and the condition that it is in and the fact that all I have read they seem to be a good machine I thought why not lash out and get something good. I've just retired so I have plenty of spare time.
