those are no good, when looking at handhelds its the watts that determine whats going to work or not, I personally use the GME TX6200 5 watt, these are a great little unit but exspenisve, check out the uniden 5watt hand held, not as dear as the GME buit a good radio all the same.

the GME

the UNIDEN range

Personally if you want my opinion the GME is the only radios to buy, they are full Australian made and they are repairable... Smile

I agree with Yogie 5W will give you good range
The gme i believe can be tricked up a bit in the watts as they are programmable its the same old story you only get what you pay for
The gme can also be set to a half channel so if you have other mates with the same set you dont have to worry about others butting in they can hear you but cant transmit over the top of you
WELL my 2cents worth

Bullet and I used some GME 5watt sets up the cape with mic/ear phone setups. They were ok at slow speed (up to about 70kph), but once you get up to speed, you can't understand what the other person is saying due to engine and wind noise. We tried mic foam and everything. I guess they work OK on road bikes, but they are quieter than quads and most riders wear full face visor helmets which would cut out a lot of the noise.
Has anyone had more luck than us?
