Great news out from the Australian Safari people! The 2007 safari has been confirmed after a 2 year break and as luck would have it, will be held in WA! Quads are not confirmed as yet, so get on line and tell them we want quads in the safari!

For real mic. It's Australias version of the Paris to Dakar. Usually about 8 days riding covering about 2,000 comp km's and about 6,000 km's all up. Was last run in NSW in 2004.

Quads were allowed in the Safari a couple of years ago but that all changed when they ran it in NSW.

Road rules for liasons made it impossible for a quad to compete; it became unworkable and the class was dropped. I think the class was only inclued as the Safari was included in the World Endurance Championship.

WA seem to be a little more quad friendly and I hope they include them because I'm gettin a bit sick of MX all the time; I'd like to crash somewhere else for a change.

Quads got permits in NT without an issue. In NSW the laws were different and as stated before, made running them unworkable. All we can do is put pressure on the safari organisers to work something out for us. They have indicated that they want quads as they look great and they recieve more entries but its really up to the WA government. Keep fingers crossed.
