hey all
after every ride (or halfway through it) the nuts that hold the axle in the carrier come loose, no matter what i do they always come loose.
any suggestions on what i can do?
last ride i didnt notice it and it moved enought to burn my brake pads to nothing and the disk makes a bad noise. anyone have a rear disk and hub for sale?
thanks |

the best thing to do is to buy the aftermarket axle nut ilke oz_450 said
but in the meantime, try this
do em up nice and tight with a stilson, and then wrap a heap of 100mph tape around the nuts. the tape is supposed to stop the nuts from the initial vibrating against each other, which leads to em getting loose.
oh and try www.metalgear.com.au for the disk and pads, they are aussie made.
how did it stuff the brake hub? show us a pic! _________________ 2002 SE Banshee |

it didnt stuff up the brake hub, i just stripped the allen head trying to get it undone, it has never come off since 2001 apparently.
i buy metalgear pads for the bike, but whats the difference between sintered and organic, i never knew i had a choice i just walked into the motorbike shop got the pads that were the same paid for and walked out, i didnt know there was different types
ill get some pics up prolly this weekend |

I had the same trouble on my Banshee an ended using loctite products. Clean up all threads with a wire brush then use loctitie primer, then use loctite 262 super nut lock...no more dramas _________________ 10 LTR 555 Dingo
