Gasdash.com. It is called the Kickstarters Gascoyne Dash. You will need standard racing fit out for your quad. Nerf bars, killswitch etc. The event has a Prologue +/- 10 Kms, then day one is approx a 180km loop with 3 fuel stops and day two is approx double day one but you race from Bidgemia station to Carnarvon. Day two includes a very long stint in the Gascoyne river bed but once you have put that behind you there is approx 70 kms of Flat chat to Carnarvon. Dust is always a factor but it is definitly the best race that I have raced in Australia and I can safely say that it matches up to some of the National Off-Road events I have raced in South Africa. Gearing is a difficult one as the Riverbed will sap the Horses from you motor but you need the tall gears for the fast stretch home. I really thought that the DS650's were going to do better( as they normally dominate this type of event back home ) but it was mostly an all Yamaha affair. I would suggest running standard gearing and a 21/11/9 rear tire with 22's on the front, there are some knarly sections so running low pressures for the River bed will also catch you out. _________________ Its not if you win or lose but how you enjoyed the ride! |
