Mate and I went out Monday evening to have a few beers (they stayed in the esky! ) , eat oily fried chicken, solve the worlds problems and watch the crackers at Newcastle.
Took My new (second hand ) 96 Rodeo Turbo Diesel out, Dropped the tyres to around 14psi and she had no trouble at all. we easily drove down behind Stockton Hospital. and sat on a hill near the fence there.
Saw two bike Cops on Suzukis (?) as we rolled through the carpark at around twenty to eight.
A bloke came past later in the evening in a V8 Manual Range Rover, A vehicle that I think should fair walk over the sand. Not this one.....
Two reasons. first the tyres were rock hard.
Second the driver had no idea, He was bogging it going up a very mild slope , reversing two metres and trying to take off ... up the slope again. The dude was in High range and slipping the clutch to try and take off, where is the sin in slipping it into low?
All I could hear during this performance was "$%#^&$#& piece of "profanity removed"" A poor workman blames his tools.. this rangie must have had a damned good clutch because it took a hell of a lot of punishment even in the short time I saw it
Saw three quads around eight pm heading south and didnt see another one stiring till we were heading home just after midnight. I thought the hills would be alive with you guys.
Was followed off the beach by someone in a late GU Patrol, they were obviously lost and didnt know where to exit. so we slowed down a little to make sure they could follow. No probs. Except they kept thier High Beam and Fog lights on the whole time, and they were day makers!
thus ends 2007.. Happy New Year |
