I've pulled my YFZ apart and realised that the cylinder is scored and is too big in diametre. I was wondering if anyone on here does cylinder resleeving or that electrosil plating stuff? I have heard the electrosil thing is alot stronger and lighter but it doesn't bother me.
And while i'm at it what is the cheapest and easiest way to make power out of my YFZ while it is apart?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Cheers,

That sounds "profanity removed" awesome dude, but won't it be a really weak engine then? it's fairly tempremental as it is but with the extra width i could imagine it would be more pressure on the whole thing.
Just another question, do you guys do the jet's at the bottom of the engine that spray up on the big end and crank? If so how much? _________________ <RIZ> |

I dont belive it will weaken the engine we bore it 2-3mm and re plae the cylinder.
If worried about bigger capacity you can always retain stock bore size and use a after market piston.
Yes we do the oil mod.
Give us a call we can discuss any queiries you might have.
Cheers

how much do parts generally cost for top and bottom end overhaul on the yfz (excluding boring the cylinder)? and where is the best place to get workshop manuals for the yfz450
and how much engine life do you normally get out of a yfz before you need new piston and rings and bottom end bearings if you ride fairly hard?
cheers,

Well it cost me (at a motorcycle dealer by the way) $3500 for complete top and bottom rebuild. Which is bloody expensive. But as for the riding part I was told 20 hours by the dealer but according to a atv expert it can be more like 35 hours.
But you would be best checking with an expert such as Zak from explosive or Len from ATVNRG.
Hope this helps man,
