Hello every one i thought i would show this to every one for i think its worth the look of somthing that is worth a few $$$$ but i will not part with it .. this is not a joke... my mums sister and her husband were the original owners of fox motor cross gear. at the start it was called chase the fox.this was a part of a copmleate racing suit that was split up among the family. i ended up with the top(ther are stains on it for it was used for the race meeting for that event).. getting to the point this was one of the first tops ever made by fox sponcering a pro racer in south australia. thats rite fox started up in a shed in south aus!! need to say my rellies are very well off. aprox 20years ago my uncle got M.S. and it afected his brain so he sold the compay to people in U.S.A. but the good thing is it was sold to another family were two bothers and a sister now own it and as most of you will know it as FOX U.S.A. sad to say my uncle is now in a home for he has no control over his body witch is sad due to the point hes was the man who started fox and now hes bed ridden. so i thought i would pull it out take a pic to show you all that alot of good things out there started here in australia just because the states can pay big bucks for companys it dont mean they can take the credit.after they sold the compay they tryed to make fox surf wear but it did not take off ..so you can beleave me or you can think its a load of crud its up to you . enjoy(mite be a flash back for some of you oldies)..

Great story, had no idea that Fox originated here. I'd be whacking the top in a frame and displaying it for all to see. _________________ I'm not suffering from insanity, I'm enjoying it!!! |

You should post the pic and parts of that explanation on an american forum. They probably wouldnt be to keen on the idea.
Still, great piece you got there. _________________ Mic

Hello again. having a good think about this and yes the yankies can more than likley take the credit for were fox is now for when it was owend over here it was only the tops and pants. all the rest off fox gear that is out now is all by them in the USA.but i think they have taken it a bit far as in they make shoes, shocks sunnies, belts ETC and thats lots its appeal to me for now its not motor cross gear its every day stuff for anybody. just like tattos. _________________ Sponsors ,Cullys Yamaha,Pirtek Malaga

I read a story in ADB mag approx 3-4 years ago on the fox family and how the clothing range all started. They say (and I'm not saying this is correct) that initially they were building suspension for bikes and to promote their product they used a fox symbol and the lettering we've all come to know on t-shirts and home made racing gear to market their product, and soon enough people were asking where they could get the same gear, I can't remember the full story but they never mentioned anything about it beginning in Australia, I don't want to contradict your story GYTR raptor am only writing what I read. _________________ Yes i am a farmer, and NO that doesn't make me stupid, just MAD! I'm old enough to remember chase the fox , and the attempt at getting the fox label into the surf scene. i'm rattling my brain trying to remember the racer that they sponsored but his name eludes me for the moment. i also have a vague memory of an association between fox, golden breed , karob and smile jeans, but this may be because there was a wholesale warehouse in the northern suburbs of adelaide that sold all of those brands
(yup i'm that old) |

When I saw"it hasn't seen the light of day for 20 years" I thought they were talking about Yogies wedding tackle. |
