I have one of the MP4 player with AV in, but the cables are so anoying. I'm looking at getting a wireless cam at the moment, Are good value, but get one that takes SD cards, the sony type way to dear and you need a handy cam, one more thing to cart around with you, Sad Will poost a link of a crowd in the USA, when I find it, looks very nice, a mate has ordered one. yer i got 1 of those Oregon 1's of ebay for $199 with a 2Gb sd card, Goes good for being so cheap, even waterproof up to 3m, goes straight onto the sd card so no need to take leads and main camera in backpack, just plugs straight into tv or pc with leads supplied with it, get a few clips and stuff so ya can mount on bike or helmet, i got mine on my helmet but sorry i dont have pic's of it mounted,...they ok for most things but if ya doing a documentary or making atv movie i would go for a better 1, if just to record and make "home" movies (atv) its ok....

Hey, Yer i tried it mounted on the handle bars and around the bike in different locations, but its just to ruff to get a clear pic, the bike shutters and vibrates to much for the camera leading to crappy footage, but yer i got a $30 helmet of ebay also to try it out which turned out great, As i used a 2 pack epoxy product to glue the bracket to the roof of the helmet, thought about rivets/screws but didnt want to penetrate the shell as might leave dangerous and week, so yer the epoxy worked great took 2 goes to get it right as ya cant adjust the up and down once on only left right and the rubber / Velcro straps supplied just wont work, , wouldn't advise on using a expensive helmet, kinda hard to get right as ya gotta remember when ya marking for position that ya will not be looking straight ahead but slightly downward at the ground and i mean like 5 mil out and its to far up or down and faults the picture, anyway ill try and get ya some pic's over next few days, Wink

This is the gear I use in the Thumb Pump movies.
http://www.launchhelmetcams.com/
The 520 lines camera is about as good as you can get in helmet cams at the moment, but when you drop the footage into a movie that is filmed in HD like mine are, the quality still looks "profanity removed".
It is OK so long as you don't use more than about 10sec at a time in a movie, otherwise the jumping around tends to give the viewer a head ache when watching on a decent size tv.
For home use though, these cams are great and the billet housing velcro's onto a helmet and the 3m super velcro is like concrete. It's fully adjustable and mine has never come off.
I also use just the cam clamped all over the place on quads and SBS's, but the vibrations kill it. I have had the best results of moving image by just clamping one of my smaller Sony HC3 hdv cams straight onto the Rhino frame. This way it is HD, so you can slow it down a little without loosing too much quality.
That's what I do anyway.

Doorslammer hope this helps, the bracket i used was the helmet rubber strap bracket removed from the strap, i then used the epoxy 2 pack to attach to the helmet with 4 pieces of foam stripping with sticky pad stuff on the bottom (perimeter expansion joint adhesive stuff from my business) but ya could improvise with anything aslong as it contains the epoxy for around 6hours, so they were placed in a square shape around the bracket with a little wedge raising the front end of the bracket to give lift for the right angle, now it seems alittle full on but remember this is a $30 helmet and not a $300... it worked great and seems to be the best option for the camera as your body absorbs the vibrations from the bike...

(might be hard to see as i sprayed alittle silver paint over the area)(bloody ruff but if ya took ya time could achieve much better)

Thanks for the input guys.
A bit of 1st hand experience beats a 100 pages of glossy brochures.
Has anyone got a few clips?
I just dug Thumb Pump out of the stack - looking forward to no2 when is that releasing.

Free on the cover of the next ATV Action Mag (Nov 24th I think).

P.S. The hel cam I had back when I made TP1 was a really crappy one, but from the same place I bought my current one. It was only about 360 lines.
