Hey

As you know i'm organizing a new ride, but i'm in abit of a bind

i have an opportunity to get a (brand new )raptor 700r for $11800......or i can get a (brand new) yfz 450

And seen has how i'm new to quads and the type of person to get borded with things lacking power i was thinking get the 700r ........but one of my mate who works at yamaha said it would be better to go with the 450 because the 700r was more of a enduro bike (i wont be racing or jumping it)

What should i do?.. i need to make a decision before Saturday .

So there for i'm asking if someone can give me a list of some pros and cons for both.Any advice would be bloody great

This topic should start a few arguements.

It will all depend on what you intend to use the bike for. As has been stated here on numerous occasions, the Raptor is a great all round ride. It has good power and rideability and is comfortable enough to ride all day. 1500 bucks worth of bolt ons will get you an extra 15 or so ponies, although they have enough grunt straight out of the box to keep you from getting bored for a long time to come. They are however fairly heavy in comparison to the 450's which can make them a pig to jump, and they are a fair bit taller stock also. If trail riding is going to be your thing then this is your ride. The torque the 700's possess will ensure that you keep up with everything else out there on the trail. Either of these bikes are going to be a great choice if you do not intend to race mx or jump .

the yfz got alot of snappy power for trail ridding and you are lower to the ground which is great but man that big 700 has got grunt both low down and top end with a reverse which come in very handy on tight trails but shes tall on bends. Im v happy with the yfz its got all the power i need for trail ridding and the dunes you will not be dissapointed with either of them Stay blue brother!

Sit on both, go with whichever you are more comfordable on. Everyone says they both have great power all round and to my knowledge they both handle pretty well. The more comfordable you are the longer you will be able to ride for. Smile

IF YOU WANT TO GET A REAL BIKE
THEN JUST GET THE HONDA TRX 450
ITS BETTER THAN BOTH THE YAMMIES
BUT IF YOUR SCARED OF TOO MUCH GRUNT AND POWER
THEN YOU MIGHT AS WELL GET THE YAMAHA laughing

But you all have to remember what happens when the bug bites..I quickly outgrew the banshee looking for something that jumped/handled/looked better, which is why I bought an LTR. laughing The $15k spent buying and blinging a banshee could have transformed the suzuki into a monster. Only bought the shee as a toy never actually thought I would be able to pilot a quad reasonably quick..........

myself i would go with an LTR, but ive had the raptor and they are a great bike, very comfortable for longer ride out on trails etc.

The YFZ's are reasonably comfortable for taller people after a set of ATV bend handle bars and a set of Pro-peg nerfs (AC Racing) as they lower the pegs about an inch which give you plenty of room arounf the hangers.

But as i said, ive had the 700 and the LTR and ridden mates YFZ etc numerous times, and by far the LTR was more fun to ride.

IF it HAD to be a yammi i would say the YFZ is alot more FUN than the 700, but that is me.
