Cause UVP was never intended for quads on Stockton.
Dubbo RTA said some branches issued UVP's but will no longer.
They showed me a letter to all RTA branches informing them all rego for Stockton are to be Conditional Rego.
They issued UVP's cause they didn't have a clue.
In regards to the price.
They can give rego for the weekend but they need to enter the current date. For example, if you were going to Stockton this weekend but went to the RTA today you need to have the rego from 17th - 21st. If they enter after the current date (say the 20th) it only lets them chose quarterly. _________________ Don't close your eyes during the crash, you'll miss the best part |

Yeah Rick I went in to them today to get o uvp for the weekend and its the same deal even worse there now claming that you have to be a club member and a have a club rep sign off on the road worthy for your quad before they will grant a conditional rego "and if you dont like it you can take it up with nelson bay RTA they are now in control of stockton affairs"
The rta is short for RETARD AFFAIRS _________________ yfz 450 |

Its all still the same as it has always been only nelson bay is the "official stocton beach " rego shop ,You want to ride at stockton its like $450 for a year ,you cant afford it get a cheaper hobby or just dont pay .
just remember as soon as you leave the 4wd track to the beach you are officially not rego,d anyway if you crash.. |

i understand all this but it still dose,nt take away from the fact that this state is run by commies. vic and tassies have it good wa is great nt dose,nt care cause it keeps the roos on their toes . as for handing the regs over to the nelsons bay registery , well , bad move , they have already got a monopoly on the game fishing industry their .
would,nt it be a good idea if all the RTA,S were governed by the one body , as it stands now all the proceeds from beach permits were spose to go to wolimbi land council a percentage of these funds were then allowcated for the maintainance of lavis lane track and its facilities.
that slowly dwindled as the councilmans pockets got lined and the track fell in to disrepair,
i could go on about this subject as being a fisherman and a quad ride , i tend to have a keen interest as to where i,m spose to go next.
theirs another touchy subject ( fisherman leaving rubish on the beach )
dont paint us all with the same brush . for years i,ve been taking my own rubish home ,, how bloody hard is that if ya bring it take it home bloody simple.
i,m sure everybody has their own opinion as to what they would like to see happen but for me government control is not a democratic choice

Totally agree on the National reg idea, in fact so much so that I just sent an email to Julia Gillard (our local member)asking for her party's stand on this issue, As follows:
"Hi there,
I'm wishing to recieve clarification on an issue that will determine my vote in the upcoming election.
Does your party have a policy for a national recreational registration & licensing scheme for recreational 2,3 & 4 wheel trailbikes & quad bikes that caters for family usage in state forrests & gazetted crown land, other than the primary producer scheme currently in existence ? If not, why not ?
Vicroads have continued to ignore the existence of these vehicles & consequently families like ours & other members of the "Quad riders club of Victoria" & other organisations interstate have no choice but to break the law every weekend. If there are no policies on this matter then there should be as I hate to waste my vote, but I will in the absence of a viable alternative submit an invalid vote.
Whilst I realise that this is not a prime electoral issue in the scheme of things, it is the only one that matters to me.
Hope to hear something positive in reply , as I am not the only one in your electorate to raise this question".
Maybe we should all get on the bandwagon, no better time than leading up to a federal election. Hey, much as it pains me to say it I might even vote for Johnny if he gave me a good enough reason.

I rego'd mine thru the Dubbo RTA Oct. Long Weekend.
It took some time due to them having to go thru Nelson Bay RTA, but it is possible.
According to Dubbo, going thru Nelson Bay 'all things Stockton' is only temporary.
But like ashnery said, it really hasn't changed any, there just not issuing UVP's anymore. _________________ Don't close your eyes during the crash, you'll miss the best part |

Great work. We all should have done this.
We will continue to be ignored if we don't start making a bit of noise about it. Look at the Green party. They have no shame in making their voice heard. And we need to be even louder than them. _________________ (PeteW's missus)

Let me add something to that. Driving 2 tonne fourwheel drives leaving foot deep wheel ruts, burning out stolen cars, dumping piles of rubbish, bush bashing new tracks where there were none previously, unregulated riding of horses, and bulldozers destroy bushland!
Compared to all these things Quads/ATVs with their low weight and low pressure tyres have relativly little impact to bushlands. People seem to overlook this. Next time your at your local riding area have a go at what is making the most impact on the area. Granted, a lot of quads will turn an existing track into a woop fest, and they will bank up sand in the corners. Tracks themselves can cause erosion but if an area was "managed" and not just left as a free for all. Then the impact ATVs have on OUR australian landscape would be negligible.
Don't belive me. Go and look at some privatley run properties or areas which only ATVs have access too.
Rant ending in 3,2,1.............. ahhhhh _________________ State governments give us REC rego + area to ride ATVs legaly! State Status: VIC-No (Nazi's) QLD-Yes(no place to ride tho) NT-?
