In an effort to further reduce spam, a new moderation technique is being applied to forums progressively over coming weeks.
As such, some posts may be delayed from appearing on the site until they are approved by admin or moderators.
General Chit Chat is the first forum area to be effected. New posts and topics will need to be moderated before appearing on the site. This should normally only affect the first post you make that is moderated, and after that, all other posts (if you were approved) will be automatically approved.
The case has been that some new users are only registering to spam the forum. The new policy should prevent these users from doing this.

In a very detrimental effect on potential advertising revenues, the number of users on the site is now just under 450, following culling of:
- Spammer user names
- Inactive Users
In the cross fire, as I removed over 500 usernames from the system, you might have found your account accidentally removed. However, this is only likely if you've not posted to the forums, so you haven't missed much.
If you find your account is now missing (or hear from a mate who's not able to access the site properly) just try registering again AND make sure you activate your membership again.
SPAMMERS: Save your time, don't bother attempting to spam! |

All forums now have the additional spam moderation running on them now. Several other preventative measures have also been installed over the weekend, including better captcha and changing of some common wording in PHP that spambots use to register on sites.
For existing registered users (users on the forum before end of April 2007) you should not notice any moderation delays as you've been auto-approved for all your postings. Hopefully though you'll just notice less spam! |

Whats with the "Sponsor" adds all over the place now? Is this spam or authorised?

Sponsor pages are to fund the site.
Shortly these will increase to more relevant sponsor ads for advertisers in the ATV industry. Until then, they'll be reasonably relevant Google Ads
