Hey,
What oil do you guys use ? I assume at least semi synthetic if not synthetic right...
The usual is motul right..
Can oils such as Mobil 1 synthetic be used instead of Motul etc ?
Since Motul is the only one I see sold in bike shops, I assume they are all biased opinions...
I can't find out this info anywhere ?
I did call Caltex oil engineers and they did not know...since it lubricates clutches etc...
What are your thoughts ? |

i use valvoline synpower(full synthetic) 10w/50 in my 07 yfz & 07 ltr and am 100% satisfied it is ok. a lot of people will go on about only using oils "specifically designed for motorcycles", as long as you use the correct API rating (in my case SJ or better) and a product with no friction modifiers for wet clutch and within the recommended viscosity range, you will not have a problem be it valvoline or any other quality brand. _________________ 08 Raptor 250 (missus)

We run FUCHS SILKOLENE now on the recomendation of an independant bike mechanic. Before that we ran MAGNATEC for the first 120 or so hours on our stock YFZ with max 6 hourly oil changes.
No problems yet. _________________ 06 LTZ400
