 |
|
We had a talk with a ranger who was handing out pamplets and info and the issue of beach rego came up .It seems after october 1 they will fully enforce all rules , so till then there will be some descrition on fines .But the issue of where you ride and if you have indicators mirrors relectors and horn, will come up and they will be enforced. Will that mean fines AND defects being issued?.So whats the value then in riding amunst the fisho's on the beach front and having to fit all this gear somehow? And paying $500 for the privilage .
The other worrying issue is that some worrimi's on the land council are getting power hungry and want to take more control of stockton beach and they don't want bikes at ALL on the beach - full stop - and they will only let 4wd's in certain area's -if this is true then next year will only get worse for every one on stockton beach. |

| That don't sound good. my uncle worked side by side with the national parks when he was on the forestry commission, i was talking to him about it and he said we are virtually f@#cked. If this happens i'll go back to karts and rta can go and get f@#cked. |

| OR...Come racing. I could race/ride (practise days) nearly every weekend doing, MX, Speedway, motard, There is alot more to offer than most people are aware. Dont get me wrong i love the dunes and have spent MANY hours/days out there, Now we go to practise days and do a bit of racing it just does NOT compare to trailriding . You will wonder why you went to the dunes so many times.....COME RACING !! |

is part of stocko in private hands? if it is ill aproach the guy and pay him to ride in the bowl if i have to
ill be happy with that
and if i do wonder elswhere ..well..theyll have to catch me then
i dont understand what the big deal is with them and quads
ive seen 4 wheel drives do much more crazier stuff and damage the dunes than any quad out there
they should all get the f#%k off our backs allready
i pay everything they ask for rego park fees for the bike fees for the car
what else do they want
just shits me |

me thinks we need a commity to go and work somethin out with the owners of both sides of lavis lane in terms of fees paid in gratuios-"a token of our apprication" in there allowing us to put good use there land and maybe discuse and alternate entry to the general area of the bowl and the foot hills to the left of lavis lane. Were not going to keep ridding up there for free and I would much prefer to give it toward a local buisness than some land grabbing buracrats who regards us as vermine anyways. NPW do not have agood track record in dealing with unregistered vehicles and the will close the gate on us sooner or later. THese are just my opinions but the times they are a changin. | Give some credit to the fact that national parks wants to extent the 300 meter zone all the way back to the base of pageys hill, but with what is stirring with the indeginious land owners , the future doesn't look good for bikes and quads on the beach . |

Is that a fact? If so, how/whom did you obtain the info?
Never the less, if it is true they've been lifted up a notch in my book. _________________ Don't close your eyes during the crash, you'll miss the best part |

Is that instead of keeping BELOW THE TOP WATER LINE-about 100mts wide,to being allowed back to the base of the hills OR widening the '300mtr wide access strip in' from the end of Lavis Ln to the water???? _________________ Cheers-Redted. 04 Raptor |

it's just a matter of getting the money for those things. lets get a big turn out long weekend. If someone knows people from the paper maybe we could get them involved. But then again not many people have what they declare on the road worthiness forms.... |

You havent seen us ride then. Not many of us actually know what we are doing but its great fun doing it. Its more of a social thing than a race meet |

This is what one of the rangers said to us on the beach , but the issue festering now is with the local aboriginal land council - i don't see national parks winning if they get their way -but if they do , then some credit must go to them -fingers crossed that common sence prevails and not "waa waa "dreamin . |

Always willing to give anyone the benifit of the doubt and in this case if parks & wildlife prove me wrong and are on the side of fare and just for all users of stockton beach I will never say a word against them as long as I ride a quad, however come the first of oct when they line themselve up at the end of Lavis lane to fine me for not having a indicator or mirrors and do so on behalf of RTA, well thats a different story. So what have we got here nat parks between us and worimi council. Lets hope gooba as you said "common sence prevails", Im on the side of who ever lets me ride at stockton _________________ yfz 450 |
