Hi all next project is to wire up a hour meter on my yfz450 07.
has anyone done this or know how to do this. PS i'm sure pete will know.Your the man pete.
cheers some one said wire to the spark plug cable and other to earth? |

usually they only have one wire coming out.
just wrap it around your spark plug lead 5 or 6 times and vwallah..
unit itself normally runs on batteries, most come with a tacho to now |

G'day Rick
The YFZ's dont have a traditional spark plug lead which makes it difficult
The best way ive found to do it is to wrap the trigger wire around the top of the coil/plug cap as much as you can and then wrap it in electrical tape to keep it there.

hi all just tried fitting the hour meter to my 07 yfz450.
1 tried wrapping it around the coil no go.
But easy way ground to regulator or frame other wire red wire attach to red wire behind the nuetral light 5 mins
works great! |

I had a rider mower with an hour meter ,someone left the ignition switch on and it gained 85 hrs before the battery went too flat to run the hr meter,so i'd have to say all you need is to hook it to an ignition power source.
