hey all was just wondering if you guys are going to have the same problem as NZ- As of January next year all of our pipes are suposed to be under 100decibels (or 96 i think it is), and if they arnt you cant race.
So we are gunna have MNZ guys wandering round our races checking how loud we are
Anything like that going to happen in OZ? |

I have heard that they are closing Echo Valley at Toowoomba due to excessive noise . I think they are aiming for 96 or 98 Db over here aswell. I tested my basically stock yfz450 with a GYTR pipe and it recorded 115-116 Db, and from what I am told nearly all aftermarket pipes failed the noise tester . I do believe they have to state in the supp regs if there is going to be a tester at a race meet , so we might all be dusting of the old stock pipes before to long |

All the rules in the GCR's cover noise testing and limits, including, warnings, fines and exclusions. Weve had noise testing here for the last 2 seasons and the tide seems to have turned from anger, to interest. Yep everyone takes more than one pipe to all events, and with interest, new pipes that are labelled ?db when tested , more often than not, dont test at the level they are labelled.
Old55 will add more to this as they have had quite a few dealings with the noise tester here, Lancaster's even own a noise measuring device to measure their own equipment. Just a fact of racing these days. My own family has chosen to stick with stock pipes on the 450's. _________________ www.waquadmx.com |
