You can buy stuff straight out of the States and save yourself $100's off Australian dealer prices and usually get it months quicker if its something they have to order. Wish i knew this years ago, probably would have saved myself at least 4 grand.
Check this site out. If you order more than one item , best to email for freight price.

the freight is the killer, the bigger and heavier the more costly. I got a Vapor tacho from the states when they first came out and, with the freight costs, it was about the same as advertised here, only took 9 days where the local bike shop quoted six weeks. but most yank stuff has no warranty so your stuffed if you have to send it back or need support. Buy locally I say. The more product the local blokes shift the better, faster service we'll all get. _________________ 2006 700 Raptor SE

We would buy locally for the YZF450, but only because most places down here have things in stock for it.
For the Blaster I've been getting things in from the USA for a lot cheaper and faster than most places here would quote me on. To emphasise the savings, I paid $400 Aussie for a complete exhaust system (including freight which only took just under 2 weeks) instead of the $700 and 4 week wait that my local motorcycle shop quoted me on for the exact same system (and even then they said they were charging me mate's rates).
I saw that Hardimans has DMC pipes though, so definitely give them a call. |
