polaris makes a 450cc cilinder that fits right onto the 500cc bottomend. And this isnt really a new product so if a 450cc polaris was to come out it would probally just the same old product with a new topend..
Just what i would think...

they worry me Polaris with their strategic marketing decisions
they get out of watercraft a few years back, devastating some loyalests, me included
I think KTM was the big winner with the engine merger deal, KTM sell them engines, dealership access in USA, brand recognition etc and then KTM stop any further merger and bring out there own Quad which will be on Par if not better than some IMO
Polaris better get it right with their 450 MXer and I honestly hope they do
if it's average or less than,, reckon it will spell trouble for-em
and us the powersport consumer loose-out in the long run
and we're on the verge of never having it better
.

Dont KTM make there motors almost identical in that a 450 topend (piston barrel head) fits on the 525 bottom end. What im thinking when the 450 comes out drop a 250 top end on and you have a junor race ready quad that will kill every thing else.

From what I understand Gaz you cant do that as the new generation 250 DOHC is a lot diffrent to the EXC 450. Even the old EXC 250 SOHC is only compatable with the old EXC 400
