Hi Guys
Well, its finally happened !!!!!! As of next Monday ( 5th Feb) and every first monday of the month we now have Quad practice days and nights at Queensland Raceways Ipswich Kart track. Supermoto practice will be during daylight hours of 10.00am - 3.00pm and road racing (Kart track) will be from 4.00pm - 10.00pm under lights, the cost of each session will be $50 plus you can get a day licence at the track if you dont already have one.
Both disciplines require the use of "treaded tyres" such as Veloces, American racer, hoosier or similar. If you require tyres then give me a call because I can now get the Veloce tyres for 9" and 10" rims at a very very reasonable discount. The Veloces Tyres are a very durable tyre and would probably last the above average rider all year. Anyone who is interested in pricing tyres should give me a call on 0418754231 or just P.M. me. So come on guys and girls lets do something worthwhile with our Monday or monday nights and have an absolute blast into the bargain. It will also be a chance to get some very valuble practice for the "2007 Australian Championships" at this circuit in October.

Regards

Derek Rumble

P.S. It's so much fun that even I have borrowed an old dunger for a blast !

Do you need to have leathers for the practice days???
Mondays might be a pain in the a$$ considering i have to go to school. Bugger ay. Razz Maybe an afternoon session is possible if I can find someone else who wants to ride, and doesnt mind giving me a lift. Smile

Hi Mic
I've got a set of leathers you can use they are the ones your dad use to borrow of me. If a night practice is a no go for you cos of skule the next day how the hell are you going to manage an afternoon session on a 'Skule Day'. There are a few Bribane guys who have never done Supermoto before but are giving it a go so maybe one of those guys can pick you up on the way through, providing that we get a 'note' of your parents to stay out on a monday night!!!!!!

Hi "JB83"
Don't Buy any leathers as yet cos I've got a few set of very good second hand leathers that are redundent from my road racing days (many, many, many years ago). If you let me know I will bring a spare set with me on monday for you to borrow for the day.

Hi Guys, The supermoto/road race practice at Ipswich Kart track went off pretty well last night under lights. All up, seven quads hit the tarmac to give it a go and there were several "undercover" spectators from the quad world just spectating and checking it out. Notable identities such as John Sherlock, Mark Mammarella, wildchild and even a representative from the south African (Sarth Ifrika) contingency! All of whom stated ""profanity removed" I wish I'd brought me quad but I'm gonna be here next time for sure". So guys if you want to have an absolute blast with your mates then this is without doubt an awesome way to do it. I've secured the quad class for the first monday/monday night of every month and you are not required to wear leathers you can wear M.X. nylons. The first of a three round Qld state Supermoto Championship will be held at this track on 11 th March which will be great practice for the 2007 Australian Quad Supermoto Championships on 20/21 Oct at the same circuit. For any further details just ask me and I'll do my best to help you.

Hey Derek
I am still hangin out to give this a go. Dad wants to show me how to get the quad a bit better prepped before I head onto the pavement. Smile
Maybe Mark will lend me his quad for me to race since his 'bad knee' still isnt good enough to race just yet... Doctors orders. Laughing
But then again, I dont trust myself with my quad so what are the chances??? Razz

I think went off pretty well is a bit of an under statement. just watching was worth the 40 min. drive and judging from the people watching and jumping out on to the track to take photos that aren't even involved with quads i think everyone would agree. this is bound to take off with ease especialy with the welcoming no bulls*#t attitude of the hosts, the obvious support of the spectaters and with all that, the enjoyment for the riders. with 7 riders on the first night and 4 more counting the sleeps to next month i cant wait to see it again and get on the track.

call hardiman atv as they are club sponsors, tell him your a member and he'll give you a good price !!!

Hi Runt , Redted , Mildgen and the 'PM Boys" sorry for the delay in replying but I got sidetracked with other stuff (Oldtimers disease you know). Anyway, myself and a lot of the topgun quad riders here in oz are using "Veloce" dirt tyres for Supermoto, road racing and dirt track they are a very durable (long lasting) they are also road legal tyres and are speed rated upto 100mph (170 kph).

Front 160/70-10" (10" rims) $88.50

Rear 225/40-10" (10" rims) $91.50

Rear 225/40-09" (09" rims) $90.50

The 09" rears will fit standard Yamaha rear rims as will the 10" fronts.
If you need any further info you can post here or e-mail me derekrumble@bigpond.com or call me (work) 07 3290 2233 or (mobile) 0418754231
