Had a look and couldn't find a thread, sorry if this has been asked a 100 times.

I'm looking for a couple of second hand bikes. One for 2 people and one for more fun. All sand work on 4WD tracks and beaches.

I was looking at the Yamaha 700 or the 450 for the single seater (only because they seem to dominate the Dakar, but I'm open to any suggestions) and a 4WD for the 2 seater. The 2 seater needs to be really easy to drive with almost no chance of getting stuck and lots of room. The single for maximum fun, power and handling. Something at the top end of performance.

Both will need QLD conditional Rego.

not many quads are designed to be 2 seaters. look at the can am outlander, big bike but and not cheap. but worth every cent. I have just changed from race type quads 450/525 polaris to a can am renegade 1000 xxc best thing I have ever done. I now spend my time with a throttle in my hand instead of a spanner. an irs set up is the best for the riding you described so your limited to can am and Honda trx 700 give a bit more info and you may get a few more replies. hope that helps
