Selling my pride and joy due to new baby and no time to ride! I religiously maintained this quad, oil and filter changed and valve clearances checked every 4 hours. This may be over the top but it’s what I did! Dyno’d at 59.4bhp, absolutely annihilates any 450 it has come across. Not for the faint hearted!
Owned for 6 years, originally a 2006 model but there’s very little left that is original.
Modifications done :
All bearings and bushes replaced – suspension, A arms, swingarm, front wheel bearings etc
Clutch and throttle cables
Front plastics race cut
Headlights removed and OEM Yamaha resistor kit installed to ensure proper battery charging.
Battery box modified to take Raptor 350 / CBR600 battery – larger cranking capacity.
YZF450 MX clutch mod – extra full fibre plate installed to give more bite.
New Yamaha clutch fibres, plates and springs
“Oil mod” - Early YFZ450’s suffered from a lack of oil to the big and little end bearings. The oil mod was completed CNCing the crank cases to accept the Yamaha piston oil squirter. Also the later higher flow and pressure oil pump has been installed.
“Cam mod” – Inlet cam advanced one tooth to YZF450 MX spec to give more top end power.
New sprockets and chain.
Renthal “Suzuki quadracer” handlebars
Custom stainless steel rear bump bar mounted on swingarm.
ART alloy front grab bar
ART nerf bars & webbing
Team Industries +3” indestructible axle & alloy hubs. Width can be adjusted with spacers built into axle.
Braided front brake lines.
Laser cut wavy rear brake disc. Parking brake removed and alloy blanking plate installed.
Kill switch & lanyard
Shock cover boots.
501cc Engine kit
Every bearing, seal, bush and gasket replaced.
Crank Works 98mm bore cylinder. This is their “stealth” cylinder meaning it looks exactly the same as a standard 450cc cylinder. No one you are racing need know what lies beneath.
JE 13.1:1 compression piston
Cylinder Works +3mm crank and rod
New valve guides and stem seals
Head flowed, valve guides shaped. All completed by Yamaha’s world superbike head builder.
Fuel Customs Intake, airbox removed. Intake flowed and smoothed to match carb.
Carb bored to 42mm
Dynatek programmable CDI. Custom map programmed on dyno to suit engine modifications. Comes complete with programming software and lead. Also wired up with launch control – allows you to open throttle fully with clutch in and will hold the engine at a set RPM until you drop the clutch.
Jetting set using lambda sensor and AFR meter. Lambda sensor boss tig welded into header pipe. Std silencer with baffles removed. Removable spark arrestor.

| I've seen this and it would be an ideal buy for someone wanting plenty of horsepower. you couldn't build this engine for the price |
