Could anyone enlighten me as to loading an ATV on a trailer in a business environment?
as plant should it be backed onto a trailer ?
I know it is safer loading forward but plant apparrntly has to be backed onto a trailer!
would appreciate your advice
Kind regards Michael
p.s. thanks for the great site

I've been a plant operator for 35 years.
From walk behind equipment, through dozers and excavators to 100 tonne cranes and piling rigs.
They gone on to suit the specific site conditions, the transporter and the machine.

As far as loading a quad onto a trailer is concerned:
If some safety assessment says they have to be reversed on, I'd be making sure that assessment is relevant to your specific business.
Sounds like some bureaucratic version of what they think, or bullsh!t.

Anyway, the operator is the person charged with their own safety, not some procedure written without practical knowledge.

If it's your business and it's your quad and it's your trailer you can do what you like. But if it's an employee of yours, using company equipment, then that's a whole other ballgame.
