Looking for UTV tyre recommendations for my small 4wd Haflinger (not a UTV but the same size with a rear mounted 762cc 2 cylinder engine). Weighs 650kg unloaded but max weight (not likely 1100kg)
I am looking for a heavy duty ATV/UTV tyre for when I go offroad - needs to be 25x8.00-12 and be able to handle speeds up to 80kph and all type of surfaces including a little bit of bitumen if required.
Most of the typical ATV type tyres seem to be a little lightweight so open to suggestions from people with more knowledge than me on such matters. Normal car 12" mud tyres are no longer made.
Thanks

You'd be shooting for a UTV tyre which are usually 6 or 8 ply, but quite often come in a 9 inch front tyre width.
SSV like the Can-Am Commander and Maverick are a comparable weight at around the 585kg and run up to 125kmh in standard trim.
Try Andy from Austraco. (03) 5236 6526
He has the Fury brand that make a few Heavy Duty options for ATV's running the 8 inch width, and usually has a few different tread patterns and compound options. _________________ Can-Am X Team

Thanks for that great information - I was intending to give him a call but wanted to do some research first.
I have seen my type of vehicle with Kenda 25x8.00 - 12 Bearclaws but I think it is used to just run around the paddock.
Thanks

Bear claws are a great soft surface (dirt, grass, fine gravel etc) general purpose tyre but are a softer compound and chew out quite quickly on hard surfaces (sealed roads, concrete, packed metal etc) Personally I like their traction and handling but my farm quad would chew through them in one season _________________ Tremble with fear - I've had an idea |

Thats what I thought as well - hence the thread asking for recommendations.
Thanks
