Thanks ... i guess thats a compliment
the sound of my 10 roaring across a paddock is one thing but the sound of a
ducati full noise across a paddock is gonna be something else.... |

i visit to my local gunsmith and used his mill to machine out the raptor swingarm, to accept the ducati engine case thru the standard swingarm pivot point. just need to install a few gussets underneath where i have plenty of room but so far looking like a nice fit. he has plenty of aircraft grade alloy there so will use that for strengthing where needed.
atm it has a 15 tooth front which will get me well past 200 kph.
i may drop this to a 14 tooth if i feel the need.

bottom of frame started and realigning of frame complete.
frame is bolted to the bench as a jig.
and all the new pipework sleeves over the standard frame so there
not just butt welds, for added strength,
once outer frame is finished i can start on the gussets. |

It's gunna be ridiculous fun
Can we make suggestions like using the rocker cover colour for a colour theme for the rest of the quad. Frame etc. _________________ Can-Am X Team

I've ridden a 996 on the road quite a few times and the V twins have a huge amount of low down grunt.
Your going to need a good wheelie bar _________________ The older I get the faster I was !! |

I dont think MA. allow wheelie bars while racing.
Throttle control is all it needs |

throttle done also all switches , hydraulic clutch etc all conected.
checking fitment of rear guards and seat, all fitting fine.
im tossing up between using the standard ducati airbox and then gutting out my oversize raptor fuel tank to cover over the top, and make it look standard. it will also join the front and rear guards together,
or making a custom airbox that relpaces the oversize raptor tank.
opinions pls.... |

I think the "gutting out my oversize raptor fuel tank to cover over the top" option is the most practicle. Not too hard, the plastics all line up and you could still change a filter without too much hastle.
Cool project |

thanks linc,
the more i think about it the more i agree with you.
the standare airbox has the injectors on top of the airbox.
there not were they normally should be.
there about 120mm above the throttle bodies, |

the first cut was the hardest
but considering ive chopped several bikes in half i figured what the hell.....
it fits perfectly....
the gap at the front between the tank and the front guard, is the total amount i have stretched the frame, closer to 45 mm then 25mm but i was only guessing before.
im thinking a nice polished aluminium strip with the tank bolts tru it will fill that gab nicely. |

started on the top of the frame,
so far its all fitting nice and snug up under the tank.
i have the front and rear standard header pipe now so i can design the rear top shock mount to clear the rear header.
trying to keep the frame so i can remove the engine if needed, and for powder coating etc.
but in saying that i dont want anything structual bolted together so its a jugling act. |
