Hi all.
Us South Aussies are looking to lift our 4 stroke Jumbo displacement to match the VIC's.
We are looking at going from 110cc to 125cc.
I topped out our state round last year on my TRX90 (113cc) and what I want to try and avoid is spending thousands of dollars getting up to 125cc. The easiest way to get there is wack in a cheap chinease motor of the exact same engine 'family'.
I see no similarity to working a CR85 motor to 94cc and doing the extensive mods to shoe-horn it in... that would be cheating.

What SA would like to see the "NEW NATIONAL" rule say is...
OEM 'type' engine cases.

I believe this is fair.
In my case, Both me and Mrs. Bullet are running 110's at the moment.
So as supporters of the sport for a while, recognition of this same engine 'type' rule will mean big dollar savings to stay in the sport.
Mrs. Bullets quad is her weekend and trail quad too. So the extra cc's will help on the hills etc when we are out at club days etc.

I don't believe our Jumbo's classes should be a race for who's got the biggest budget.
hopefully we can all take the easiest path to national equivalence, and you guys are OK with the addition of the word 'type'.

thanks

So far, after discussions with Pete, the most suitable wording we can come up with to keep the sport cost effective and to stop people putting non-suitable engines into their Jumbo's, is as follows:

Jumbo Juniors Guidelines:

Seniors only
90cc 2 stroke maximum (+5%)
125cc 4 stroke maximum (+5%)
Must run OEM frame
Must run OEM or OEM copy engine cases

This way, if it is cheaper to replace your engine with an entire replacement engine, rather than rebuild the original one, you can do it.

The above mentioned new guidelines for Jumbo's were voted on at the QuadridersSA meeting last night, and passed. QRCV has also approved them, so now , these are the National Jumbo Juniors guidelines.

Seniors only
90cc 2 stroke maximum (+5%)
125cc 4 stroke maximum (+5%)
Must run OEM frame
Must run OEM or OEM copy engine cases
Must not take class too seriously (maybe that's just an SA thing?)

Top stuff.
I'm sure the 125 rule will mean increased popularity to the class.
Can you get this info to the other state clubs.
It would be great if they were aware of our 'National' moves so that they dont take off on a different tangent.
I spose there is a risk someone else could follow the two wheelers and go for 90cc two stroke v's 150cc four.
(Just for the record, I dont think we should ever go there)
I think a full house 90 two'y should still beat a 125 four but the difference is as fair as it needs to get.

good work fellas
bring on Mt Gambier.......
