Ok, so about a year and a half ago I got a pretty unreal deal on racing a 2011 DS450xmx. Before I got that I had an 09 xmx, which over the two years I had it got race a lot, and in one bad crash I snapped and bent the frame in 5 places, and by the time I got the new bike it's motor was pretty worn down. I could have quite easily fixed the 09, but with the 2011 as well I couldnt afford both, so I parted it out and got rid of a lot of the larger parts.
Now, a while down the track and I have a bit more spare cash, I have decided to resurrect the 09 and do a ground up rebuild. It is definitely going to be a work in progress, but it will be fun and an excellent way to learn even more about the Can-Am DS450.
Here are all of the parts I had lying around:
And here is the progress I have made after making the decision to go ahead:
First thing I am going to get is one of those bolt kits from EBAY, has anyone ever bought one before? and are they any good?
And here is the parts list I need:
Lower Belly Pan
Front Frame Spars (both) - Including aluminium bracket fender mounts
Rear A Arm Rails (both)
Front lower section of the frame (where the steering stem and lower a arm brackets mount)
Lower A Arm Brackets (All 4)
Left Side Upper Motor Mount
Right Side Upper Motor Mount
Battery Box
Air Box and intake tube
A Arms
Tie Rods
Axle with sprocket hub
Rear Hubs
BCS Bearing Carrier
O Ring for outside of bearing carrier (under neath brake stay)
Swing arm Bearings
Linkage Bearings
BCS Radiator and Fan
Complete DS450 Motor including throttle body
Motoworks SR4 G2 Full Exhaust System
Complete BCS or Can-Am Race Department Wiring Harness
ECU
BCS Brake disk fin and Brake Upgrade
Complete plastic set (including louvres)
Front Bumper
Nerf Bars
BCS Case Saver
BCS Front Sprocket Retainer
BCS Coil Re-locator
BCS ECU Protector
There is probably a lot that I am forgetting. But that will work out in time. Once I have the bike back together and some spare cash, I will then upgrade to:
FOX Shocks
Precision Steering Damper
Flexx Handlebars
