|
Buying a new helmet and have noticed that all helmets have the australian standard sticker on them. But only some of the helmets have snell and DOT approved.
What is the relevance of this. Are the helmets with the snell and DOT approval more suitable for racing, do they offer better protection?
I have noticed that even in the brand of helmet some have snell and DOT approval and some don't.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Ryan _________________ Ive heard that sound before and this is going to hurt |

aside from the technical differences in the approval tests, the Aus Standards sticker is required for a helmet that is to be worn for use on public roads/trails etc. DOT approval is acceptable by MA for MX and some other forms of racing. _________________
