wondering if anybody has got any ideas on this- if ridden through water hard ( say 200mm deep) will devolop a miss at low revs, more annoying than anything else. will clear up after 5min or so. had an 08 which was the same but a lot worse would die completly. the 09 bike is a year old. feedback please ?

A few Polaris's had that same problem in 2011 at the Easter event at Ironpot. I think they died completely. Not sure how they fixed it

Luke Beechey might be a good person to ask

The rubber seal on my spark plug cap perished a bit water kind of sat in the rubber causing the spark to arc straight to the cylinder rather than your plug. I only found it after i washed it and started it in the shed one night and you could see the spark jumping across in the dark. Worth a look.

I dont think that it has much to do with the fact that it is a Polaris specifically, I would be looking at the breather hoses from the carb, if they are picking up water (std ones tend to hang down to the bottom of the fram) it can have this effect. On anything with an FCR Carb on it, it is worth running one of the hoses from each side up to the air box, I have set a few up with all the hoses running into a filter manifold and then having a couple of snorkel hose rfom there go up to the air box while there are still hoses to run down an drain away fuel if it goes over on its side.
