Officially, yes the beach is still closed for camping, however, I was up there for a ride yesterday afternoon and come across a bunch of guys who had camped overnight with their bikes.
(if they are forum members, I would like to once again thank them for their assistance in saving the poor asian blokes car from being swept away in the surf, it was certainly very close) |

| was there yesterday guys its shut for camping and looks like it will be for a while because they have put a massive permanent looking sign on the lavis lane entrance |

Looks like NPWS have taken the closures from the storm months ago as there opportunity to tighten the noose on the whole beach
