Since yuou cant actually read the proposal for Juniors we and many others submitted, I thought I would post it here, so if anyone wanted to submit a comment on the Minutes, they knew what our proposal was to submit a comment about

Proposed Rule
22.7.1 Quads - Motocross and Club Level
Racing
JUNIOR CLASS(ES) RACING
50cc Juniors
90cc 2-stroke 110cc 4-stroke Race Together
90cc 2-stroke 125cc 4-stroke Race Together
200cc 2-stroke 300cc 4-stroke Race Together

junior 200cc -300cc 12yrs – U16yrs
junior 90cc – 125cc 9 – U12yrs
junior 90cc – 110cc 7 – U9yrs
junior 50cc recreational 4 – U7yrs in line with 2 wheelers

Rationale
remove limited and comp .... make the juniors age racing not “Depends on what bike your on”
2 wheelers doesnt matter whether theyre on a KTM rocket or a yamaha or honda.... they race by age and cc and then in grades when called for.
Lets start getting kids back on the track, making it easier for parents to understand, and not constantly fighting over what is limited and what is comp,
doesnt matter how easy some people think the rules read, a first timer to the sport, just wants their kids on the track if they have the right cc machine and theyre the right age.
We need to do / try something different- Restrictions on Track use, events that junior quads are invited to, infighting over rules is killing the junior quad scene in many states.
SPEED and INSURANCE have been blamed for what changed the rules to what they are
I am sure the junior quads go half the speed of 2 wheelers, and Im sure the Insurance by MA for junior quads isnt negotiated separately from any other discipline.

At the end of the day it just makes the parents spend more money, ie 90cc against 125 cc whats going to happen there, very obvious i think ,, the ones that can afford it will be buying biggger bikes eg, 90 against 125 we all dont have to be rocket scientist to work that out , yes let em race together but they can still have there class as like a winner in the 90cc and 125 cc, just my 2 cents worth

why not for the junior section just go out and have fun and not worry about who finishes 1st, 2nd or last.... go back to having fun, no trophies, ribbons or medals just plain old fun.

yep exactly, lets get kids enjoying this sport, they are the future of our sport. Then maybe the parents will enjoy it instead of worrying about the other kids beating their kids. Which ruined our racing last year .

junior 50cc recreational 4 – U7yrs in line with 2 wheelers

recreational means non competitive in 2 wheel terms, trying to keep the same as our 2 wheeel counterparts, start at 4 being able to ride

you cant race til your 7 in 2 or 4 wheels.

a bit off topic but interesting to contemplate
our scb released it's annual report recently, and in it was an interesting statistic
since 2008 recreational activity permits have increased in numbers issued and competition permits have decreased. ie, clubs have applied for and run, more rec events than race events.

is this due to the cost of racing, and the effect of gfc's and troublesome economies? or is it that we have over complicated the racing environment? or is it due to the racing scene losing it's once friendly atmosphere?

I'm not pointing at any of these as likely blame, but we really do need to isolate the cause/s and rectify the situation or racing will eventually disappear, if the trend continues.

this statistic is across the board , not just quads, but all disciplines, and not just juniors or seniors, but all classes.
