 |
|
Things are shaping up to be one hell of a weekend , a lot has happened over the past few weeks. We hope to announce some of the supporters and sponsors shortly. The weekend has taken a possible new twist with the inclusion of horses, yes horses, the concept being that they too will do a 40 k loop on one of the 3 days, and they have no connection with MQ. They will help in defining the track in places as there will be no siting lap.
Why you ask, well rather than organise a seperate weekend for horses, we are going to cater for everyone, horses saturday, bikes , quads sunday monday.
In the process of getting the sup regs right with the rules, regulations and classes as cross country is a little different to most other events. _________________ JUST DOIN IT

Geez I could have 3 days of competition, still prefer 50hp in comparison to 1. _________________ Yes i am a farmer, and NO that doesn't make me stupid, just MAD! KTM 505sx, the chicken splitter |

This event just keeps getting better!
Are you considering Ironman & teams across all 3 disciplines? |

Hey Hook,
Make sure you have an over 45 class for the more discerning / cruisey older riders [slower bastards] like myself.
Should be the highlight of Qld quad racing for the year.
Once again anything that you need just ask and the QQRA will be more than willing to help with.
Thanks scotty. _________________ 06 700 raptor 50th anniversary |

Just to keep you all updated, the weekend was spent , looking and marking out more of the cross country loop, new uncharted country.
We had a few new very experienced guys come on both 2 and 4 wheels to share there ideas and give us there input. When asked , how do you think we are going, there reply was, " this is gonna be great". We can make anthing we like really, over approx 40klm, some fast, some sand, ridges, gullys, tighter technical and of course the thunder x track will be at the start and the finish. We believe we have classes in place for everyone, but wait , there`s more-------- both competitive and non competitive. After 75mm[ 3inches] this week the track was superb, but believe in 3 months time regardless it still will be. We have some gullys that will still be wet by then.
Crunching numbers, crossing T`s and dotting I`s to make sure we get this right, but sup regs will be up on the MQ site soon. Rember this is 3 days, horses , bikes, quads. So spread the word.
Cheers to you all,
Hook.
It looks like we could have a contingent from the bottom of nsw, some from vic and maybe even sa attending, just have to teach them how to ride a horse. _________________ JUST DOIN IT |

Iwas going to make a sensitve reply, but that is a good question, so i will triple check.
Horses are dangerous things, as of yesteday we have our neighbour and daughter, [gadget & gracey] with arms in slings & plaster. But they are okay. _________________ JUST DOIN IT |

This is a social horse trail ride, no vet checks required before or on the day. An indemnity form along with registration to be filled in and relevant permit to transport is required, this because we are in a tick free area. The Ironpot hall and reserve is the designated area for horses, 1.5 klm away from any motorcycles, that will participate the following day. Supp regs state that no motorcycle shall be started before 4pm saturday afternoon.
For more info on this part of the weekend please feel free to contact me as this has nothing to do with MQ.
A bbq lunch and entertaining night is planned. _________________ JUST DOIN IT |

The supp regs are coming, word is they will be approved by all, they [MQ] just want further particulars on our medical services, we have used these guys many times before, so they just seem to be stalling. Maybe they don`t want us to have to many nominations.
Will put some pics up of some of the terrain shortly, Thunder x track is looking good for the way out and back in. One point of interest in the sup regs is if you choose or can ride both days the second days riding will only cost you $35. So find a mate with a bike , drag him out and go in the teams class. Classes will be 3 and 4 hours. That`s better than 3 x 10 minute rides if your lucky. _________________ JUST DOIN IT |

As this is a cross country event, it would be a good idea for people to run bigger diameter tyres that are 6 ply.
A puncture early on in a 3-4 hour race may not be much fun _________________ Team Ironpot 701 Just Doin It
