Hi

I am new to this forun, we just bought a quad for the kids yes it is a chinese cheapo but it goes well.

I need advice re the starting of the bike, the bike will fire up when using the remote and it realy rips the lights work but my problem is with the ignition on it wont start with the starting button on the handgrip the lights wont work nothing its as if it is completely dead it wont kick over but once i hit the remote it fires up well, also whenit is running if you turn the ignition of or if you hit the stop button on the handle grip it wont stop.
Once the battery is connected there is power throughout the bike and with a test light once you turn the ignition of the test lamp goes of.
The mob we bought it of are useless so do you guys have anyadvice.

sounds like you possibly have no circuit through the start button, hence the stop does work but the start does not. either that or the remote unit ( not the fob you hold onto but the remote controoled switch mounted on th e quad) is blocking the start button. try disconnecting the remote controlled switch ( usually under the seat or rear guard) by pulling the plug ( this should be pretty much adjacent to the switch) now try starting the quad with the handle bar switch. i reckon it will start, if not the switch is not in circuit with the starter. .... local bike mechanic will be able to fix in no time at all.i hope this helps
