Hey guys,
I've just rebuilt the top end of my banshee with new pistons, rings and full set of gaskets and I'm only getting around 30psi in one cylinder and 80 in the other. It has a pro design cool head which I'm not sure if that's effecting it but it all worked well previous to pulling it apart. I'm majorly stuck and frustrated any help or advice would be worth it's weight in gold!!!!
Thanks for looking Evil or Very Mad

Ye absolutely I set them up to match the marks on the pistons. Tightened everything up nicely made sure the cone o rings didn't fall out the whole thing is doing my head in!

Did you put a new o ring kit in the head? Sounds like your compression orings arnt sealing. Also what dome size are you using?

It could be a few things.
You could have snagged a ring on a port and broken a bit off or
a compression O ring may have slipped slightly out of place.
Did you wipe a little bit of grease on the O rings to keep them in place?
Were the cylinders rebored oversize?

The bores are completely standard, the rings are perfect and I did grease the o rings to keep them in place. I've ordered a new set of orings from the states but if that doesn't work I don't know what it could be I've exhausted pretty much all avenues. Could the bottom end be at fault at all?

This may sound silly, but does it run? Or did you just wanna see what the comp numbers were before you started it and found the prob. does it feel like on the kicker with the plugs in normal or more like 30 & 60 psi would? Reason i ask is compression testers are known for playin up.If those arethe actual numbers well im with the others deffinately somethin wrong. Prob the orings. Nah bottom end cant effect actual compression reading. Still a very good idea after a rebuild to make sure crankcases are sealing but not the prob here. Are the arrows on top of piston facing exhaust ports? Probably cant really effect the reading either but maybe it did snagg a ring with the joins in the wrong position but then again you said the rings were fine.so yeh prob o-rings lol

Also when you said you rebuilt it did you jus replace pistons an rings back into the bore or did you have it bored and honed?

Definitely won't start I can push the kickstart with my hand fairly easy. The pistons have arrow facing forward I didn't however get the cylinders bored and honed is that where I've gone wrong?

Mmmmmmm quite possibly but if it was running okay before you pulled it down. Just gunna have to measure the bores and see if theyve worn. It could still just be the oring or somethin simple though youll find it.

Did the head tighten down properly? Pro Design heads are notorious for pulling their replacement head studs out of the cylinders.
Also, how do you know the rings and O rings are all ok. Have you taken the top end back off to check?

Ye had the head off multiple times trying to figure it out. I've ordered a new set of orings. Been tightening the nuts enough to not strip them but still tight.

Did you buy the head second hand? It doesn't have stroker domes by any chance?

The head came with the quad and was working perfectly before ot was pulled down. Not sure if it's got Stroker domes though.
Thanks for the offer of help waiting on some parts gonna see if they fix it I'll let you know though.
