I'd almost bet my left one that MAQ will be the required "yes" men for this, as to be seen as "public consultation."

They've picked up close on 10 million in grants for MX since 2006, mainly going to labour seats with a strings attatched $1 mill for Wyaralong.

IMHO, MAQ do just about nothing for trail riders, whether on two wheels or four in Qld. But for the recent efforts of some good people near Iron Pot Creek, the score would be zero.

on or off topic the clowns that think more noise = more power are killing our sport for everyone...

at the 2010 tp300 the noise coming out of some of those bikes was untorlerable, "Polaris" cough cough... mainly but some other brands as well.

in the 2 wheeler sport theres the same prob if not worse.

99.9999999% of riders with a loud exhaust dont give a f*** about our sport 's existence in 2 , 5 , 10 yrs time, its all about them and there ego..

I didn`t think there was excessive noise at TP?,not on the track anyway....

The noise does seem to be THE main problem.
And that is what the new laws would allow the police to enforce,even on private property....farm?
Most of the mufflers on MX and trailbikes are from the US which have crazy high noise leves,way over Aus rules.
Since trailbikes/quads rarely run at full throtte and need max horsepower
it does seem like a waste of $500-$600. I admit std bikes sound like sh#^$# postie bikes but better that than no noise at all.
The other prob I guess is the bogans on pitbikes riding around the houses.

Only the ones in Qld, and only if the authorities have to act on them.

Willowbank= noise. Are they going to hit the bikes up there too? And leave the rocket trucks and 3000 horsepower drag cars alone?

the only thing missing from that point 9 is .... THEY DONT HAVE ANYWHERE FOR US TO RIDE THAT IS LEGAL out side of bike park!!!!

so maybe they actualy might do somthing about that fact maybe the message might become clear to the powers that will hold the big stick at the outcome of document or maybe they will just scrub out point 9

You can always be more disapointed in how the media can get something wrong... and then keep going that way and blow it out of proportion

The FCAI group took their web page down because there was one or two words in it that might have offended someone (probably the truth).
While it's been down (a week or so) they have chosen to re-vamp it and strengthen their position.
It should be back up any day now, and it will display an even stronger position against Roll Bars on quads.

I'll see if i can get the link up in this thread when it pops up again.

This page lists the submissions to the CMC which lead the CMC report which lead to the Taskforce which may lead to something sensible.....

Short version of the Govt, bodies and authorities submisions is that:

The riders don't have nearly enough venues.
Enforcement and fences doesn't really work anyway.
Complaints stiill occur, and more frequently.
So much confusion exists because of all the various issues.

The CMC ( CRIME & MISCONDUCT COMMISION ) report tabled in Parliament.....
