hey Guys just wanted to check if this normal or if something wrong with my new mods on my 700 rappy. I have installed new full HMF exhaust, a Pro design K+N and PC5(premapped for my mods). Install was followed to the install instructions and on first start up the new header pipe was glowing RED hot within a minute of just idling and when i shut it off noticed the exhaust had a small amount of smoke exiting out the end which had a plastic type burning smell that continued for about a minute and a half after shutoff.
any help greatly appreciated

Nothing unusual for a new exhaust to smell and put out some smoke.

I don't think it's straight up with a power commander to assume the pre map is spot on.

If you can, get it to someone with a dyno.

Doesn't sound like anything to worry about. It is some of the internal and external coatings burning off. My headers have always glowed red. Start your rappy up in pitch darkness, you'd be surprised how much they actually do light up. Give yourself a few rides to get used to the mods and if you find the big girl playing up, do like Muzzgit suggests and get her on the dyno. The big 3 is a pretty basic mod so the factory settings on the PC are usually spot on.

Thx heaps guys, nothing to worry bout took it to lancelin on Saturday and first ten minutes had smell of burning still then all gone, pipe heated right up but has just changed from shiny silver colour to a bronzy burnt colour similar to every after market pipe I've seen. New mods are awesome, I put some 22x7x10razr2's on the front which make huge difference as well had to learn ride a lil different with the tyres changing handling a bit. Now to start saving for some razr2 rears and some suspension upgrades.
