Looking at getting a 2011 TRX450er. This will be my first quad so after some info. I think I've got a good deal from a local honda dealer. Anyone got any info on the bike. Any issues?? what is the reliability like.

cant speak for the 11 model but i have an 04, solid reliable bike with a bullet proof engine, like all other makes/models im sure others will have or know of faults. I personally havnt had any issues with mine & for that reason I havnt upgraded as the yrs have gone by, off the top of my head the factory suspension is ordinary so if i were you id upgrade the suspension & fit a decent steering dampener then your well on your way _________________ 04 TRX 450r

hey JB, isnt there something about pre '05 450R's being the pick of the bunch because they were actually made in Japan, whereas post '05 are Taiwanese.
MX guys complain about post '05 frames being weak, probably not such a big deal for the average joe though... _________________ 2002 SE Banshee |

Gday mark, i honestly dont know what the word is out there on the different yr models (im not on a TRX450 forum) , im a huge fan of the kick start being only a (wet winter) seasonal rider so not having to deal with battery issues is great for me. I only trail ride so i havnt been hard on the frame, hit a few decent washouts but thats about it, where they were made again i have no idea. the engines respond well to internal upgrades & shes as solid now as the day i got her, the day Mrs B wants another quad ill be hunting down an 04 or 05 for sure _________________ 04 TRX 450r
